The Birkhof: Combining modern horse breeding with a lasting heritage!

The Birkhof has a long history of breeding top class Warmbloods for Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing. For over 50 years, the Birkhof has been well known for being one of the most innovative studs in Germany, inspiring breeding, training and equestrian sports.

The Birkhof is a recognised EU station. We can supply both chilled and frozen semen to most countries on a next day basis. Many of our stallions are available with either.

Our stud-season begins mid-February and ends at the beginning of August. In this period, most of our stallions are available with fresh semen throughout Europe. If you are interested in frozen semen – also available outside our stud season – please get in touch with us.

In addition to offering elite stallions for breeding purposes, we aim to offer a truly special customer experience. For those breeding with Birkhof stallions and those purchasing offspring, we offer additional lifelong support. The service portfolio ranges from offering unique marketing platforms to offering clinics.

We also have promising offspring available from our stallions on an ongoing basis. Feel free to get in touch with us to discuss your requirements. Each year we find the “perfect match” for approximately 100 horse owners and have a wide-spread network of horses by our stallions for sale, in case we currently do not stable your ideal horse.

We are a busy venue, attracting thousands of visitors throughout the year during our numerous events such as the yearly foal championship for Birkhof offspring, our stallion parade, a vet congress,the youth festival and stallion pre-selections for the Southern German approvals.
